Fieldsheer • Large-Volume Cooling Program

Cooling that can be new — and still scale to 300K–500K units.

John, you gave us the commercial filter very clearly: one major U.S. retailer, very large volume, very low price, and something new. This page only focuses on cooling directions that can be screened against that reality.

01 • Where Fieldsheer already has strength

A real cooling base already exists

Fieldsheer’s current public cooling range already includes Hydrologic evaporative vests, hi-vis cooling workwear, DriComfort garments, cooling accessories and ice packs. So the opportunity is not to start over.

💧

Hydrologic Evaporative

Simple water activation, reusable use case and mass-market-friendly product architecture.

HV

Hi-Vis Cooling

Cooling already connects with industrial/workwear users rather than sitting only in outdoor recreation.

365

DriComfort / Activewear

Lightweight warm-weather apparel gives Fieldsheer a second platform beyond cooling vests.

Ice Cooling

Existing ice-pack products create a familiar base for improved cold-source efficiency.

Commercial implication: the next winning product should either be cheaper at scale, clearly more comfortable, or visibly more differentiated. “More technology” by itself is not enough.
02 • Three programs worth screening

Designed around retail scale — not engineering novelty

These are the three directions I would screen first before discussing higher-cost active cooling.

Volume Core

Cost-Engineered Evaporative

Keep the product behavior the retailer already understands, then engineer the garment, material usage and construction around the 300K–500K volume target.

  • Lowest-risk route for aggressive FOB targets
  • Vest, towel, neck, head and simple accessory formats
  • Value created through scale, construction and sourcing efficiency
Best when: price is the #1 gate.
New + Scalable

Drier / Lighter Evaporative

Create a clear consumer improvement without batteries: less wet feel, lower activated burden and a more wearable garment experience.

  • Dry Evaporative / HybridCool-Lite development routes
  • Still water-activated and reusable
  • Innovation can be demonstrated immediately in-store
Best when: the retailer can accept a modest step-up for visible comfort improvement.
New Format

Cooling Beyond the Vest

At very large retail volume, a lower-ticket cooling format can sometimes scale more easily than a more complex vest.

  • Head / neck / bandana / sleeve / base-layer opportunities
  • Simple activation and easy shelf communication
  • Can extend Fieldsheer cooling into more seasonal touchpoints
Best when: target retail price is too low for a meaningful vest upgrade.
03 • Price-to-technology gate

The target price should choose the technology.

Click the commercial priority. This is how Vinmori would filter the platform before showing John any more products.

Recommended: Cost-engineered conventional evaporative / PVA formats, optimized around material consumption and assembly efficiency.
04 • From current product to meaningful upgrade

Do not replace what works — improve the reason to buy

The cleanest retail story is a direct before/after benefit the consumer can understand without a technical explanation.

Current Consumer Story

Soak / activate with waterSimple and familiar.
Cooling vest / accessoryEasy category recognition.
Low retail priceSupports broad adoption and seasonal volume.

Possible Upgrade Story

Same simple activation — less wet / lighterA comfort improvement customers can feel.
Same cold source — longer useful coolingA performance improvement customers can understand.
Same price discipline — new format or use caseA retailer-friendly reason to add incremental volume.
05 • Vinmori technology screen

Not every technology belongs in this program

For John’s current brief, technologies should be screened by scale and price before cooling strength.

Strong Fit

Conventional Evap

Best route when aggressive price and huge scale come first.

Strong Fit

Dry Evaporative

Potential comfort upgrade while keeping activation simple.

Screen by Cost

HybridCool

More differentiated evaporative architecture; needs target-price alignment.

Screen by Format

PCM / Ice Upgrade

Useful where retailer accepts more material cost for clearer performance.

Not First Choice

Fan Cooling

More components and power make it harder to fit an ultra-low mass-retail target.

Premium Only

Water / Peltier

Excellent for stronger cooling, but not the first route for this 300K–500K low-price brief.

Two numbers unlock the project

Give us the target price and product format — we will engineer backward.

Instead of sending more cooling concepts blindly, Vinmori can narrow the platform to solutions that have a realistic commercial path for the retailer.

01 · Target FOB or Target Retail PriceEven a rough range is enough.
02 · Preferred Product FormatVest, towel, head/neck, shirt, accessory — or open to recommendation.
